The Amparillo logo is inspired by my own galah, Galahad, whose playful personality and soft, expressive features shaped the entire visual identity. I wanted the brand to feel warm, approachable, and full of character — just like the bird itself — while still maintaining a clean, modern aesthetic suitable for a professional portfolio.
The colour palette is built around four key tones:
#FFB2A9 — a soft blush pink echoing the galah’s chest feathers
#6DF3E5 — a bright aqua that adds freshness and contrast
#D479AE — a deeper magenta‑rose for richness and depth
#39467C — a muted navy that grounds the palette and provides visual stability
Together, these colours create a balance of playfulness and professionalism, allowing the brand to feel vibrant without becoming overwhelming.
For typography, I chose Quicksand Bold. Its rounded terminals and friendly geometry mirror the galah’s gentle, curious nature. The typeface is thick enough to hold its own next to an illustrated mascot, yet soft and approachable — exactly the tone I wanted for Amparillo. The combination of bold weight and rounded forms gives the brand a sense of confidence without losing its charm.
The final logo blends illustration and typography into a cohesive identity that feels personal, joyful, and unmistakably inspired by the unique personality of a galah. It’s a brand that celebrates colour, character, and creativity — all grounded in a real companion who brings those qualities to life every day.
